The Embassy of Ireland, with friends across the country, will celebrate St Brigid’s enduring message of equality with a selection of commissions, which they will share between 5–6pm as part of a national programme of events that you can follow, see below:

31 January 6pm – ‘Brigid Unplugged’, a virtual Brigids Day celebration with music, poetry and conversation from guests:

31 January – A conversation with Lucy Kennedy, one of the directors of The 8th, a documentary about the recent “Repeal the 8th” campaign, (tickets are available here).
1 February – a newly curated selection of female fronted shorts will be live on Irish Film From Home (accessible here).
1–3 February, three features will be available to rent via the Galway Film Fleadh’s Solstice platform: Sacha Polak‘s Irish co–production Dirty God, Cathy Brady‘s festival hit Wildfire and Oscar nominated drama Room by Lenny Abrahamson, who will also join an exclusive conversation about his film on 1 February (tickets here).
2 February – Two new free to access podcasts will be launched: recordings of a previous festival event with Roisin Conaty and Bridget Christie, and an interview with all–female production outfit Alfonso Films.
