Consultations: an opportunity to have your say

There are two consultations open to take your views, the first is for the Care Quality Commission and focuses on changes their planning to the regulation of health and social care services. The second consultation is for the Department of Education on the relationship between household income and education for pupils in England

The Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent health regulator in the UK. They are responsible for monitoring, inspecting and regulating health care services to make sure they meet the fundamental standards of quality and safety in the UK.

They have begun a second consultation looking for feedback on their proposals to:

  • regulate primary medical services and adult social care services
  • improve the structure of registration and clarify their definition of registered providers
  • monitor, inspect and rate new models of care and large or complex providers
  • use their unique knowledge to encourage improvements in the quality of care in local areas
  • carry out their role in relation to the fit and proper persons requirement.

The Department of Education (DoE): 

The Department for Education is holding a consultation about work they’ve done regarding the relationship between household income and education for pupils in England. 

They are asking for feedback on their methodology of this preliminary investigation.
