Crawley Irish Festival: thanks for a great day!

Back to all news

Marie and mayorThe Irish in Britain Green Hearts team were delighted to be a part of this year’s Crawley Irish Festival. As ever, the day was jam–packed with an array of entertainment from live music to Irish dancing performance: it was a day of fun and festivities for all ages.

Irish in Britain’s Marie Dillon said, “The rain didn’t get in the way of us enjoying ourselves either, along with the other stalls we were nicely situated indoors in the cosy surrounds of the Hawley Theatre foyer.”

The Green Hearts team had a busy day carrying out free blood pressure screenings for visitors and encouraging everyone to show their heart some love!

As well as finding out their blood pressure score, everyone who participated received a free health guide that includes a handy 30–day new habit tracker. You can download one here

StallStarting off with one small positive change can really make a big difference to your health, it could be something as simple as making sure you drink enough water every day or keeping an eye on the amount of sleep you’re getting.

The tracker will help you stay on course until your new habit becomes a part of everyday life. This was a message picked up by many of the those who stopped to talk at the Green Hearts stand.

Brian Dalton, CEO of Irish in Britain (pictured below with Sarah Finucane of The Craic is Back), who also attended the Festival said,

Brian Dalton & Sarah“It was a privilege to attend Crawley Irish Festival and huge congratulations to John Nolan and his team for a brilliantly organised event, weather challenges notwithstanding.

“These events are vital to celebrate the culture and contribution of generations of Irish people and indeed the broader message of the value of a richly diverse Britain.”

A huge well done to all involved and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Would you like to support the Green Hearts campaign? Why not contribute by sponsoring the team of volunteers running 10K in Kew Gardens in September to raise 10K? Every little bit counts!
