Developments around the Bill of Rights and EU referendum

Back to all news

There aren’t any developments to report really.

On the Bill of Rights and repeal of the Human Rights Act/withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights, this years’ Conservative Party Conference did not mention it once (unlike in 2014 when it was frequently mentioned). It looks likely that the government will not publish any proposals or hold a consultation until next year. This blog from Jack of Kent is both informative and amusing.

No date has been set for the EU referendum yet although the formal campaigns for Remain and Leave have both begun so expect there to be plenty of debate in the coming months.
