Events over St Patrick’s weekend

Back to all news

St Patrick’s Day falls on 17 March and is celebrated by Irish communities and others across the globe. The day, also known as the Feast of Saint Patrick, marks the anniversary of the day St Patrick died (c. AD 385–461). St Patrick was the primary patron saint of Ireland, along with saints Brigit of Kildare and Columba.

The religious feast day has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and lots of green.

Check out the Mayor of London at the St Patrick’s Parade in London this year saying London is lucky to have the Irish.
