Since it was founded seven years ago the Felling Irish Association has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes as well as promoting Irish Culture.
Their work was rewarded on Monday 19th October 2015 when the three founder members: Michael Mahon, Des Costello, and George Law (as depicted in attached photo ) attended the Gateshead Awards Ceremony 2015 at Gateshead Civic Centre where they were pleased to discover that the Felling Irish Association had been voted the best Voluntary Organization of the Year and where they were presented with a medal and a certificate for outstanding service to the community of Gateshead.
