Funding Bulletin August 2018

Back to all news

Our August edition of the funding bulletin includes events, featured grants and funds that are closing soon. This month’s bulletin highlights a number of grants that support the development of community spaces and public buildings.

We are also introducing a Featured Fund segment into the bulletin, where we highlight a specific grant that is particularly important or relevant to members. This month’s featured fund is the Lloyds Bank Enable Grants and we encourage anyone who is interested to apply or get in touch for support.

As always, I am available to provide support and would be happy to work with you on a funding application. Simply email me at membersupport@irishinbritain.org or call 0203 409 1286 to get in touch.

I also strongly encourage you to have a look at our recently updated members’ resources on the Irish in Britain website. These resources offer valuable guidance and advice on a range of topics and are particularly useful for anyone writing a funding bid or looking to diversify their income

Events

Irish in Britain are running a free workshop for members on funding and intergenerational projects on 6 September in London. The workshop will feature sessions from Trust for London and intergenerational arts charity Magic Me. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn more about a key London funder and to get some practical advice on running an intergenerational project.

Featured Fund

Lloyds Bank Enable

With most funders only supporting projects and minimal cost recovery, it is often extremely difficult to find ways to cover core costs, let alone improve an organisation’s core functionality. That is why Irish in Britain encourages all our members to take advantage of the Lloyds Bank Enable fund

The Enable Grants provide funding of up to £15,000 for charities to develop or trial new approaches to service delivery. This may include business development and planning, monitoring, leadership and governance and communications. This is an excellent opportunity to improve the efficiency of your organisation and can be used to:

  • Develop business plans
  • Improve monitoring systems
  • Expand marketing and communications
  • Develop new streams of income
  • Reach new audiences or volunteers
  • Adopt a quality standard

Funding is available to registered charities with an income of between £25,000 and £1M who work with groups identified as facing one or more complex problems. Applications open 28 August.
