Gold Award presented to president of Milton Keynes Irish Society

Congratulations to Annette Irwin, President of Milton Keynes Irish Society, who has received a prestigious award for her many years of service.


Annette received the Equality Council UK‘s Gold Award from Councillor Sam Crooks, Mayor of Milton Keynes.

The Equality Council UK Award is in recognition of Annette’s 35 years in charitable and voluntary work across Buckinghamshire. At 83, in frail health, Annette continues to be a Trustee – 28 years for The Town Lands’ Charity and 23 years as a Trustee of The Educational Trust, both of which serve Newport Pagnell. 

Annette has long been associated with The Irish Community, she is President of the Irish Society, which contributes money to charities every year to several different deserving causes, including the Mayor of Milton Keynes’ Charity. 

Annette was nominated for this award by the Honorary President of the Equality Council United Kingdom, Alan Richards.
