The fact sheet will be distributed to housing providers, housing options teams and benefits agencies in the Greater Manchester area regarding Irish people, rights to benefits and housing and the Common Travel Area (CTA).

The idea is to try to prevent incorrect decision making by various agencies rather then to have decisions made, placing people in vulnerable positions and then having to undertake the laborious task of challenging.

Patrick told Irish in Britain

“In our role representing Irish people in Greater Manchester we believe that proactively promoting the rights of Irish citizens who live in this area, or will be arriving in Britain post Brexit, is best served by giving statutory organisations the tools and knowledge to make correct decisions regarding the status of the Irish in Britain, as guaranteed in the latest update of the CTA.”
