Irish in Britain Cultural Forum September 2018

Back to all news

Join us in London on 28 September for a day of training and discussion, featuring one–to–one sessions with representatives from the Big Lottery Fund.

The Cultural Forum is an opportunity for all Irish in Britain members who run cultural events and activities to receive training, discuss issues, and collaborate with their colleagues.

Workshop 1 – London Arts in Health Forum

London arts in health logoThe forum will begin with a presentation from Damian Hebron Director of the London Arts in Health Forum. Damian will lead an interactive session on incorporating health and wellbeing into arts and cultural events and programmes. The session will include practical advice and detailed examples from projects London Arts and Health Forum have run in the past. Damian will be available to answer questions and provide specific advice on developing events and programmes that include a health focus.

Workshop 2 – Big Lottery Fund

Led by Big Lottery Fund Funding Manager James Dove, the second workshop will include helpful information on applying to the Awards for All and Reaching Communities grants programmes. James will work closely with participants to address any questions and concerns about applying to the two funds.

1–2–1 Sessions – Big Lottery Fund

After the workshop, James and another respresentative will lead 20 minute 1–2–1 sessions with organisations planning to apply to the Reaching Communities programme. This is an excellent opportunity to gain direct feedback on a potential project. If you are thinking of applying to the fund or have done so in the past, this is not an event to miss.

The forum will take place at Voluntary Action Islington, 200A Pentonville Rd on
Friday, 28 September from 12.30–4pm.

Please contact Connor Mellegers at membersupport@irishinbritain.org to register your place for the event. Space is limited so please register as soon as you can. When you book your space, please indicate if you would like to register for a 1–2–1 session.
