Irish Pubs Global Federation launched

Back to all news

The Irish Pubs Global Federation network was launched on 20 January with a remit to promote the highest standards in Irish pubs across the globe.
Founded by Enda O’Coineen, The Irish Pubs Global Federation is a not–for–profit network of the Irish hospitality industry. With 6,500 members, it is the Global Federation for owners and managers of Irish Pubs worldwide, which seeks to promote the Pub as a centre for each community, providing high standards, good food, culture and music.
It is a large and growing resource that supports their members through providing management resources and access to premium Irish suppliers.

The new organisation was launched by Minister for the Diaspora, Jimmy Deenihan. “Engagement with our diaspora is of enormous importance for Ireland. The achievements of the diaspora both Irish born and those of Irish descent, have enhanced Ireland’s profile and reputation internationally and are a source of pride to people in Ireland. Members of the diaspora have shown Ireland and Irish culture and sports, in all parts of the world and the hospitality network being launched here today by the Irish Pubs Global Federation is a wonderful initiative and it is something I am delighted to support.

Hospitality is something Ireland is renowned for and this previously untapped network will create new and meaningful connections between the global Irish and Ireland and has the potential to make a major contribution to our country,” he said.

The Federation will provide an important platform for SMEs and suppliers based in Ireland’s hospitality sector. With an estimated 7,000 Irish Pubs around the world, the network will provide a global platform for Irish suppliers to connect. That connection will provide them with an opportunity to export their services, food and drink.

Addressing the launch, Founder and President of The Irish Pubs Global Federation, Enda O’Coineen, said: “While the industry is well organised in Ireland, this is not the case globally and there is a massive void in this aspect of linking–up Irish pubs based outside of Ireland. I believed there was an immediate need for those involved in promoting Ireland abroad and global Irish brand owners to come together, to connect and support Irish hospitality around the world.”
