It is with sadness we give the news that James Phillip O’Donovan, one of the founder members of the Portsmouth Irish Club, has died aged 103. Jimmy was born in Cork and went to live in Portsmouth when he moved to Britain at the age of 19.
Jimmy O’D as he was often known was involved with the Federation of Irish Societies, now Irish in Britain, from its inception in 1973.
