Leeds Irish Health and Homes launch Aran Home Support Service for people with memory loss

Back to all news

Leeds Irish Health and Homes (LIHH) have launched the Aran Home Support Service for people with dementia and memory loss.

The organisation prides itself on offering a ‘doing with… not doing for’ philosophy when supporting people through its culturally–sensitive service.

The Aran Home Support Service helps people retain their memory to do everyday tasks. Using reminiscence and life story the supporters can promote a sense of well–being and happiness.

The team can also assist with light housekeeping including meal preparation, baking, laundry, shopping and visits, while providing respite for family carers.

If you know someone with dementia or who is experiencing memory loss that can benefit from this support, contact Leeds Irish Health and Homes. See the Aran Home Support Flyer or the LIHH website for more information. You can also contact the organisation if you are a carer.

The service is available from Monday 9am until Friday 5pm, with visits lasting for a minimum of two hours.
