Brendan ‘Tiny’ Vaughan writes on the 8th London Irish Vintage Club Charity Day coming up this weekend where Irish in Britain’s Green Hearts campaign will be doing free blood pressure screening to promote heart health.

The London Irish Vintage Club has been running since 2011 and our annual family charity day at Tir Chonaill Park brings vintage car, tractor and lorry enthusiasts together, to raise money for charity whilst having a bit of craic along the way.
This is the largest Irish event in London, second only to the London St Patrick’s Day Parade. We have live music (two stages), craft displays, working threshing machine
display, falconry display, children’s amusements, various
food outlets, bar facilities, to name a few.
This year we welcome Johnny Brady and his Band as well as Dom Mescall and Phil Mack from Keep It Country.
Since inception over £600,000 has been raised for charitable organisations which include various London Hospices – St Lukes, Meadowhouse, Michael Sobell and the Shooting Star Chase (Children’s Hospice) along with other charities such as Acton Homeless, Cricklewood Homeless, Aisling (Return to Ireland Programme), BiAS (Brent Irish Advisory Service), HACS (Hillingdon Autistic Care and Support), London Air Ambulance to mention a few.
For 2018 the charities to benefit will be the Marie Curie Hospice (Hampstead), London North West Healthcare Trust (Macmillan), Darkness into Light (Pieta House) and Southwark Helping Hands (for disabled adults).
