Management Committee vacancy

Back to all news

Causeway Irish Housing Association  is a not–for–profit organisation providing shortlife accommodation for young people in London, with preference given to Irish and migrant applicants.

Causeway was established in 1986 as An Teach Irish Housing Association. We currently manage 215 general needs and supported units, mainly rooms in shared houses, although we do have some fully self–contained accommodation.

We currently offer accommodation in the London Boroughs of Haringey, Hackney, Islington, Camden, Enfield, Wandsworth, Southwark, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Waltham Forest, Barnet and Tower Hamlets.

Causeway offers its tenants more than just housing through our Lifeskills Service which offers advice and support to all tenants including help with education, employment, apprenticeships, benefits and budgeting, resettlement, income maximisation and community involvement.

The Lifeskills Service also encourages tenant participation in areas such as gardening and DIY projects and promoting social enterprise.

Management Committee member vacancy

We are looking for new members to contribute to the growth of the organisation and strengthen our existing small but active committee. Quarterly meetings are held in North London on weekday evenings.

There will also be an opportunity to join our sub–committees which include Finance, Fundraising & Staff Recruitment. We also have an annual Strategy Day where members have a real opportunity to influence the policies and direction of the organisation.

Requirements

We are looking for knowledge and experience of any of the following: housing, homelessness, finance, fundraising, development. Most of our meetings are held in Central London.

Please email lisa.finnegan@irishcauseway.org.uk to register your interest.
