Mentors and Future Leaders needed for new scheme

Back to all news

IIBNFLP logoThe Irish International Business Network (IIBN) is looking for applicants and mentors for its Future Leaders Programme.

The IIBN is a global not for profit network connecting Irish entrepreneurs and business professionals. They have been working with the Irish Government to develop the programme and have received partial funding under the Emigrant Support Programme to set it in motion.

The aim is to harness the skills and insights of successful Irish business leaders to help develop new Irish ‘rising stars’ and foster a sense of Irishness amongst them. In Year 1, the Future Leaders Programme will work with up to 25 Future Leaders, on a rolling basis, over a 12 month period to enhance their personal networking skills, improve connectivity, business acumen and opportunities. The plan is for this initiative to become an annual programme. Successful applicants will have access to their mentor for one–to–one meetings, consultation and advice over a 6–10 month period depending on the individual need.

Applicants should be:

  • Irish (or of Irish descent) entrepreneurs or mid–level executives with 5 years + experience from all sectors living in the UK
  • Possess obvious drive and commitment to becoming a leader in their chosen field
  • Committed to mentorship as a tool for career development and progression
  • Possess a genuine desire to maintain a connection to Ireland and to support its future growth and development
  • Preferably current members of either IIBN or actively participate with the Irish business diaspora in the UK

The IIBN is also actively seeking mentors:

  • Irish serial entrepreneurs or senior executives with 10–15 years+ experience across all sectors
  • Proven experience and connectivity
  • Ability to support, encourage and motivate
  • Can commit approximately 10 hours to the program over a 6–10 month duration
  • Are passionate about the value of mentorship as a tool to develop others
  • Possess a genuine desire to ‘give something back’ and maintain a connection to Ireland to support its future growth and development
