New Clubs Survey Planned

Back to all news

New survey for Clubs – tell us where you need us

The prevailing climate of cuts and declining trade are having an adverse effect on all our clubs. Attracting funding is increasingly difficult as we are all asked to do more with less while government restrictions in funding ethnic specific services have already begun to take their toll. We recognise that clubs are the backbone of our community and have supported our clubs through capacity building for years; however further moves towards streamlining service provision continues to put pressure on our members. This new climate is tough for in the community sector but the good news is we as Irish in Britain are better placed than most to treat this as a time of opportunity to serve our community better than ever.

To this effect we are undertaking a survey of our club members to ascertain what support our clubs need for today and tomorrow as we encourage sustainable solutions for our members. We are hoping this project will enable us to identify specific needs before we look at a range of independent funding streams to ensure the service provision continues.

We have completed a trail with one organisation that has already identified significant challenges. Our survey is completely confidential and all data is guarded to protect your identity.

This is a crucial time for our clubs as we seek your input into Irish in Britain’s future support package. As your Clubs and Community Centre Development Officer I will be in contact soon about this survey and how you can make your voice heard for the benefit off all the Irish in Britain. If you have any questions until then you can email me here or call 07962 567232
