New Survivors Group in Leicester

Back to all news

Irish Survivors in Britain logoA new group for Irish survivors of institutional abuse has been formed in Leicester.

Started up by survivors of childhood abuse in the industrial schools in Ireland, the informal group meets regularly at the Emerald Centre, Gypsy Lane, Leicester. It has been brought together and supported by Helen White (Irish in Britain), Simon McCarthy (Coventry Irish Society) and Gus O’Gorman (Leicester Irish Forum) who have been working in partnership with Irish survivors in the area.

The next meeting of the group is on 15 April 2014 at 12.15pm and any Irish survivors in the Leicestershire area wanting to know more about the group should email hwhite@irishinbritain.org. Alternatively, call the Birmingham office on 0121 622 4169, leaving a message and number, asking for Helen to call back.

Further information is also available on the website www.irishsurvivorsinbritain.org.
