The Birmingham Irish Association is running a Pen Pal scheme called Write Across the Water enabling school students to make friends between Britain and Ireland. It’s a great way to connect and learn more from someone you may not have had a chance to do so without this scheme.
Get involved and enjoy the creative process of writing to someone new by completing this short form with your details and the Birmingham Irish Centre will do the rest. They will aim to connect people of the same ages.
Ireland’s Minister for the Diaspora and International Development, Joe McHugh, T.D. said it’s great to see connections being made between Irish and British students, he said:
“I have travelled all over the world and I know the real value of speaking with someone new and hearing about their experiences and perspectives.”
