The Iron Games

Back to all news

The Haemochromatosis Society recently announced details of their latest fundraiser, The Iron Games sponsored by the Toureen Group.

Haemochromatosis is a genetic disorder that is often referred to as ‘Celtic Disease’ because it is most commonly found in Celtic Nations – Ireland, Scotland, Isle of Man, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany.

In fact, people of Irish heritage are more likely than any other ethnic group to carry the gene that leads to haemochromatosis.

The Iron Games will help fund a new 3–year education programme, part of which will involve working closely with ‘Irish in Britain’. Read more about The Iron Games here and learn more about Haemochromatosis here
