In recognition of his work for the Irish in Britain and Birmingham, Dan Mulhall in conjunction with the Birmingham Irish Association has set a competition for young writers between 11 and 16 years old.
The task
Poetry expresses emotion through verse on all matter of subjects, from current affairs, religion and identity to love, loss and everything in–between.
This is a chance to voice your opinion, share a memory or dilemma, impart advice, or indulge in writing about something you adore. From ballads and odes to rhymes and free verse.

Last entry date
Entries must be submitted by 2nd January 2018 with the winner being notified on 17th March 2018. The winning entry will be chosen by H.E. The Irish Ambassador to the United States Daniel Mulhall.
