Tommy McKenna RIP

Back to all news

Tommy McKenna, who has died aged 80, was a Monaghan native and well known successful business man at R&M and the owner of the New Ardri Club in Manchester for many years.

He was a great supporter of all things Irish in Manchester, his adopted home. The GAA, Comhaltas, holidays for disadvantaged children, benefit dances – Tommy helped them all.

He was a founder member of the Monaghan Association and Irish Community Care where he was Chair for many years and a trustee till his passing.

Tommy was also a staunch supporter of the Federation of Irish Societies (FiS) and regularly attended  annual conferences throughout the country.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and friends both in Manchester and throughout Britain’s wider Irish Community.
