Data from the recently published Civil Society Almanac 2017 reveals an uncertain future for small and medium–sized charities. Despite initial optimism, the National Council for Voluntary Organizations (NCVO), who publish the data annually, suggest that because this recent report is based on data from over a year ago, there is no way to be certain about funding from government and corporate sources due to the “uncertain times”. This is concerning for smaller charities who are often unable to obtain funding necessary for their operations without those larger sources.
