This workshop is the third in a series of events by Irish artist Fion Gunn as part of her year-long residency with the Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool.
The residency was launched on 31 of March 2022 and includes an exhibition of Fion's work which is showing now at the University's Victoria Gallery & Museum until 23 December 2022.
In this workshop artist Fion Gunn will show a new work which she has created in Virtual Reality and filmed.
The film will be followed by a review of major group exhibitions which Gunn has curated and the audience will be invited to explore curatorial possibilities in an informal group activity.
Curatorship has long been associated with power, control and censorship, this workshop will examine the power dynamics as well as the pragmatic considerations of the role.
Fion Gunn was born and raised in the city centre of Cork, graduated from Crawford College of Art & Design, and spent a post-graduate year at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts Supérieure de Nancy.
She has exhibited across Europe and China, and has won multiple awards for her work from Arts Council England, Arts Council Ireland, and Culture Ireland.
Gunn lives and works in London.
