Volunteering can be a win-win for the health and well-being of organisations as well as the individuals who volunteer!
There are many success stories of older people and people who may be disabled, living with dementia, caring for a family member, housebound, and/or experiencing digital exclusion volunteering. But people can also experience practical barriers to accessing opportunities and contributing their time and skills.
This session will explore positive steps we can take to dismantle barriers and build bridges, sharing ideas and reflecting together on the adjustments that we can make both within our organisations and within our own thinking to enable organisations to include and involve people from diverse backgrounds as valued volunteers
This session will be of special interest if you are
involved with a charity seeking to increase volunteer team diversity, build a culture of respect and welcome people from different backgrounds, or help other charities to do so
interested to volunteer for a charity, or to support a person you care for to volunteer, but anticipating that you may face barriers in doing so
interested in social justice equality, access and inclusion
People from all communities, volunteers, trustees and professionals are all welcome
This session is free of charge and open to all.
