Irish Community Care in partnership with Fréa*, would like to invite you to attend this information event so you can find out more about the Irish Government's Payment Redress scheme.

The Irish Government report of the Commission of Mother and Baby Homes in 2020 has resulted in a scheme set to be opened later in 2022. At least 86,000 Irish men and women are eligible for this scheme, many of whom are living in the North of England.

We particularly welcome former residents of these homes as well as health practitioners, care workers, academics, charity and NGO staff, politicians and community activists.

This will be a short and engaging session so you can learn what Irish Community Care is doing to support former residents and the role that the wider community can take.

We would delighted if you could join us for this event. Please register on Eventbrite and refreshments will be provided on the evening. We look forward to seeing you.

The Irish Government Report can be read here.

More information can be accessed here.

*Fréa is a charity bringing together three independent long-established charities (Irish Community Care based in Liverpool, Irish Community Care Manchester, and Leeds Irish Health & Homes) in the North of England with shared values, experience, and mutual respect. The Fréa logo is inspired by the root ‘fréamh’ in Irish, as we’re anchored and strengthened by our shared heritage which through careful cultivation and ambitious growth, enables us to flourish.
