The Oxford Irish Society was started to keep the Irish community together in Oxford, and for all those with a love of all things Irish, especially music and sport. Committee members include Marcus Folan, Tom Kelly, Joan McKenna, Elizabeth Carroll, Kathleen Mullagh and President Father Pat Armstrong.
The society is run by volunteers and affiliated to IRISH IN BRITAIN (formerly the federation of Irish Society’s)
Our Cara club meets every 1st Friday at Headington Con Club from 8.30pm this is aimed mainly at over 50’s but as with all our events everyone is welcome. The live music is country and Irish based. A weekly coffee morning is held every Wednesday from 11am at the Black Swan and 2 lunches on St.Patrick’s and Christmas are held are held at Hawkwell House also with live music. We have a
graves fund to help those who die without families.
