I am the son of Irish immigrant parents and grandparents who hailed from Birr County Offaly and Naas County Kildare. I am proud of my heritage and have been an Irish citizen since 1983.
Having worked in the NHS in my early working life, I moved into the leisure industry working in hospitality for 27 years prior to running my own company.
My connection with the local Irish community has been constant, including various roles from secretary of the Brian Boru Club in 1983 to President in early 2021, which I undertook to help the club recover after the Covid pandemic.
As a trustee of Ireland in Britain I am committed to assisting the organisation achieve its ambition and aims by supporting the community to ensure its voice is heard.
I feel since the pandemic, it is more crucial than ever to support those in the Irish community including those who represent the diversity of the Irish community in Britain today.
