GAA
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is Ireland’s largest sporting organisation. It is celebrated as one of the great amateur sporting associations in the world.
Gaelic games are not just played by members of the Irish Diaspora; they are also played and enjoyed by those who have no links to Ireland and simply love our games.
The GAA has long played a central role in the lives of Irish people at home and abroad, its unique reach across community means it’s well placed to help promote key messages to the Irish diaspora. This year Irish in Britain teamed up with GAA clubs during May Measurement Month to promote our Green Hearts campaign, highlight the need for blood pressure awareness and raise awareness of the higher than average cardio–related mortality rates among the Irish in Britain.
Following on from the success of the partnership, we will continue to collaborate with Britain GAA and promote the health, wellbeing and experience of the Irish community in Britain.
